DAY 6: Playdough

Mummy needs practice making playdough...I think the label-less container was Baking Powder and not Cream of Tartar!  Anyway, this was SON's first experience of playdough at home.  Straight for the mouth says it all!!  I am told that I used to eat playdough and make others eat it too!  This play challenge was very contained/adult led, but I know we'll do it again...SON will help to make the playdough and be free to explore more freely next time (note to self:  find a carpet cleaning number!!)

DAY 5: Family activity

Time for walkies with mum and dad...just so happened we were going to head in the direction of a friend's first birthday party! It's so good having dad with us on a walk, time spent with the breadwinner is precious.

DAY 4: Islands

SON carried a little brown old fashioned suitcase round for most of the morning.  Since we had emptied most of his tub toys and I had reunited him with some of his soft toys, he was already in the middle of the growing pile.

The suitcase was literally an island and SON was literally surrounded by a sea of toys!!

DAY 3: Fun with blocks

SON enjoyed taking the blocks out of the tub and putting them back in the tub.  The more noise the blocks made the more excited he got!!

DAY 2: Build a Fort

SON and I used blankets draped over the dining table chairs to create a small, fairly dark cave/fort.  We left it up to show daddy who also had a turn to go in it!  The little pink duck (thanks to auntie T) has a flashing light in it which was fun seeing light up in the dark of the fort.

DAY 1: aim for 30 day challenge and SON's interests

Sometimes one feels as if time lived is at warp speed with a child, but in actual fact, time for a child doesn't exist in the knowledge of rigid hours and minutes.

Time to a child is presence, routine, objects, words, play... to stop and stare.

My aim in taking part in the 30 Day Challenge (and beyond) is to live in moments of awe and wonder with SON.

To explore, discover and delight in...

What a priviledge to be part of SON's learning journey and to be reminded of mine .
